KABALE- A three storied building that has been under construction in Kabale Municipality has collapsed leaving bystanders bewildered.
The building is situated along Kabale – Kisoro Road at Esso corner in Kabale Municipality.
The building belonging to Kabale businessman Herbert Bushuyu has been under construction at the 3rd floor and today Tuesday morning, it collapsed but no one was injured although a lot of property was destroyed as over 80 computers belonging to Forte Bet Sports betting company.
The building has been housing a Sports betting company known as Forte Bet on the 2nd floor and before it used to house Haven night club as well some shops on the ground floor.

An eye with Fred Mukiga, a night watch at the building said that the building started collapsing at around 7.20 am.
“It was after hearing the morning news I decided to get down and greet people down we heard a loud bang as we saw the third floor that had been under construction getting down”. Mukiga said.
Kabale Municipality Council Engineer Alex Tumwesigye, said that blame is on the developer who failed to get the building plans approved and using unqualified people to work on the buildings and using substandard materials under the pretext of saving.
“We have a problem of developers who fail to bring their plans for approval and therefore summons have been sent to Bushuyu Herbert the owner of the building to explain” Eng. Tumwesigye said.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate said that no person was killed or injured but property was destroyed and blamed the incident on poor workmanship because of using sub standard iron bars while cement ratio mixing were poor.
