KAMPALA- The Acting Registrar of High Court Tom Chemutai has written to his Deputy a letter of Interdiction over alleged misuse of his office.
The Deputy Registrar (Executions and Bailiff Division), His Worship Deo Nizeyimana was interdicted on the orders of the Deputy Chief Justice for abusing judicial Authority.
According to a letter dated June 29th 2020, Deo Nizeyimana is accused of abusing judicial authority, producing poor standard of work and conducting himself in a manner prejudicial to the image, dignity and reputation of public service.
Chemutai said that he was interdicting and forwarding Nizeyimana to the Judicial Service Commission in line with Regulation with 25(i) 2005, and is not allowed to leave the country without permission.
“You are directed to hand over with immediate effect any government property and all court files to the Registrar High Court in accordance with section F-d of the public standing orders” The letter of Interdiction reads in part.
The letter of interdiction was copied to the Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice, The Principal Judge, Chairman Judicial Service Commission, and Secretary to the Judiciary among others.
