KAMPALA- Former senior presidential press secretary, Joseph Tamale Mirundi has called off his weekly one on one political show programme on Kamwokya based NBS TV according to reliable reports.
Tamale had built a legacy for featuring on prominent Radio and Television programmes where he regularly spins propaganda to favor his endeared figure, Yoweri Museveni.
On most of the preceding programmes, Mirundi has been threatening to quit his programme on NBS as he always lashed out at his weekly host, UJA president, Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira suspecting him to be projecting an agenda for the so called Mafia gang that has been haunting him since his controversial exit from State house where he had served for 13 years.
“When he told KBM that if he wasn’t a Muslim, and a journalist he would have been deadly I knew they were not in good shape to continue with what has been very important to Uganda,” reacts one of the Mirundi fans on Facebook. “But Mirundi should embrace the digital platforms.
He can start a YouTube or Facebook stream,” he adds. No official statement relating to the quitting has been issued by Mirundi at the time of filing this report.
Former show host Simon Muyanga Lutaya rushed to his social media narrated that some group of mafias are behind this saga hoodwinking the President that Mirundi attacks and abuse him.
Muyanga added that the media house has been threatened by tormenters with a Ugx 10Bn should they continue hosting Mirundi.
”I have been reliably informed that Tamale Mirundi’s Television and Radio career may have come to an end after his tormentors convinced President Yoweri M7 that his man is acting with unprecedented impunity in attacking and abusing them” Simon Muyanga Lutaya former show host at NBS.
“NBS TV has been threatened by the tormentors with a 10bn/- in damages should they continue to host Mirundi whose anti- graft fight during this corona money spending spree has put their jobs on line. Can my NBS TV still hold?” Muyanga Lutaya added.
Privy sources indicate that Tamale’s fate could have resulted from the statements he has always made accusing some government officials for benefiting from lockdown on the expense of Uganda.
This site has learnt that Mirundi’s exit takes effect on Tuesday, June 16th 2020.
