Uganda registers 3 new Coronavirus cases

    KAMPALA- The Ministry of Health has disclosed that 3 confirmed cases of Coronavirus were yesterday July 18th 2020 registered at the Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe bringing the total number of cases to 1,065.

    According to the Director General of Medical Services Dr Henry Mwebesa, the 3 cases include 1 long distance truck drivers who entered Uganda through Mutukula , one returnee from South Sudan and a community contact in Gulu District.

    Dr Mwebesa also said that 12 foreign long distance truck drivers who tested positive for Coronavirus at various borders were denied entry and handed over back to their countries of origin.

    He however said that Uganda is still nursing 136 people who admitted in various hospitals across the country and these include 115 Ugandans, 19 foreigners and 2 refugees.

    Uganda remains the only East African country which has not registered a case of Coronavirus death ever since the breakout was reported in the country in March 2020.
