18 months old toddler goes missing in Rwampara District


RWAMPARA– The Police in Rwampara are investigating circumstances under which a one and half years old Akatujuna Leviticus a resident of Rwamuhurura cell, Kamomo parish in Bugamba sub-county in Rwampara district disappeared from his parental home.

According to the Rwizi region Police spokesperson Samson Kasasira, Akatujuna disappeared on Sunday February 21st at 1Pm.

Kasasira says that, the child was playing in the yard while the mother Katusiime Monic 21 was in the kitchen preparing lunch as other family members were still at church for Sunday prayers.

Later on, the mother came from the kitchen and could not trace for the child forcing her to start searching in the neighborhoods but nobody had knowledge about his whereabouts.

The search went on throughout the whole village until on Monday February 22nd when the Father Besigye Ivan 28, a resident of the above address made a report at Bugamba police station.

Immediately, the CPS Rwampara was called in and the team headed by the DPC Asp Opiyo Patrick with detectives visited the scene, conducted searches around the villages but nothing of evidential value was recovered.

Kasasira adds that their home is along the road stressing that the child moving might have moved to the road and wrong people picked him.

“The victim is still missing, searches ongoing and inquiries continue”- he added

The case of disappearance has since been registered at Rwampara Central Police station vide CRB 42/2021.
