Security guard Killed by unknown assailants

KAMPALA- The yet to be identified assailants have killed a security guard at a construction site in Makindye division in Kampala and made off with property worth Ugx 7.5 Million.  

The 35-year-old Stephen Opio Epale met his death in the wee hours of Thursday morning while guarding the construction site belonging to Ahmed Ssuna in Kelezia zone in Makindye division.  

The site manager, Arafat Ali Bamulesewa found the deceased lying in a pool of blood. I received a call from his boss that Opio’s phone was off. I was prompted to go and check on him and found his lifeless body in a pool of blood,” said Bamulesewa.  

A team of Homicide detectives from Katwe Police division visited the scene and recovered a blood-stained hammer, which is believed to have been used to kill the deceased.

They also established that some construction materials and equipment including three bags of cement, two drills, three wheelbarrows, deceased Techno phone and other property valued at Shillings 7.5 million has been taken from the site.    

The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, says Katwe police station has entered a case of murder and aggravated robbery.
