RUBANDA– Another man has committed suicide by hanging in Rubanda district , 2 days after another Boda Boda cyclist hanged himself in Kabale Municipality.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed that 65 year old John Rwantangare a resident of Rwabarera village in Kitojo Parish in Bubaare Sub County in Rubanda District was today morning found hanging in his own house where he lived alone.

It’s alleged that the deceased last week tried to end his own life by cutting his throat with a panga but was rescued by Police and taken to Kabale Regional Referal Hospital where he was admitted.

Maate told our reporter that Rwantangare due to yet to be established reasons escaped from the Hospital where he was admitted and later hanged himself.

The area LC 1 Chairman Boniface Byamukama who was among the first people to establish that Rwantangare had committed suicide, reported the matter to the Police at Kachwekano who rushed to the scene and had a postmortem report carried out before the body was handed over to the relatives for burial.

The case of suicide by hanging was registered at Kachwekano Police Station under reference number SD 05/02/03/2021 to help in investigations.

Two days ago , a Boda Boda cyclist John Bosco Twinembabazi based at Highland Stage in Kabale was found hanging in a rented room in Bugongi Ward in Northern Division of Kabale Municipality.

Maate said that both suicide cases are being investigated and the Police will give out the report about their findings in the due course.
