Rotting body of a man discovered in Rukiga

RUKIGA– The police has mounted an operation to establish the cause of death of a 41 year old man whose body was found rotting.

The deceased according to Elly Maate the Kigezi regional Police spokesperson is Alfonse Hatimana a resident of Kitahaza village, Mweruka Parish, Kiziba Sub County in Rakai District.

The Police was informed by Hilda Kwesiga 52 a resident of Bukinda trading centre, Bukinda Sub county in Rukiga District.

Mwesigye was in her garden when she heard a staunchy smell from the nearby bush where she saw a body lying along the trench.

She therefore reported the matter to Bukinda Police post who later notified Rukiga CPS.

“Police visited the scene, upon which retrieved the body from the trench, discovered a national identity card which were in the names of the above particulars” Maate said. 

The body had pilled off, must have stayed there for some days according to Maate.

“The body also had phone contacts which have been used to reach his people” Maate added.

The Body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary pending postmortem as Inquiries underway at Rukiga CPS on reference number CRB 123/2021.
