
KAMPALA– As the Autocross National Rally Championship calendar in Uganda still in it,’s final stages to kick off.
Rajiv Ruparelia has opted to taste the deeper waters by gearing up for his second international competitions at the KCB Machakos rally slated March 27- 28.
The high speed driver whose adrenaline levels are in over- drive mood has promised to stage up a competitive fight with some of the great drivers in the rally.
Together with his co-driver Enoch Olinga in their VW Proto Polo, they were able to finish 12th in the recently concluded Nakuru rally which kicked off season in Kenya striking a time of 2:50:38:4.
The rally ace will tussle it out with formidable speed merchants such as Baldev Chager in (Mistubishi Lancer Evo) the winner of the Nakuru rally, Tejveer Rai, Onkar Rai, Jasmeet Chana (Ice man) among others.
Team Uganda is all focusing on Rajiv the Kapeeka Champion to rub shoulders with the big guns in their country and at least make it with a podium finish.
In a recent interview after the Nakuru rally, Rajiv applauded them for the great organisation and excellent recording of time done on satellite which is not the case here.
He also noted that such international competitions give him a new feeling and open his eyes in regards to how we can build and work cohensively as the Ugandan Federation.
Due to the COVID – 19 pandemic , there will be no spectators to enjoy and shower some dust as it has been before.
The Machakos rally is the second on the Kenyan National Rally Championship that contributes to the table standing of the drivers.
