RUKUNGIRI– Youth leaders in Rukungiri District have been warned against embracing dangerous ideologies that may lead to Violence and divisionism thus creating room for poor governance.

“Difference in political gender of any form is a poisonous ideology for it sets up communities against each other and kills cooperation because of superficial divisions,” Dr. Ham Akampurira the incoming district youth chairperson said this in a speech during the Rukungiri outgoing youth leadership handover ceremony at the district headquarters on Thursday.

The ceremony which attracted more than 10 youth leaders from Western region, was organised by the Outgoing youth leadership.

“The issue of leadership is very important in the transformation of societies, It is not any issue to play with. It is instead a serious mission and youth leaders must be equipped with a right set of ideas to secure the interests and stability of the youth rather than looking for money in office,” he said.
