KISORO– The Bufumbira county Legislator Sam Bitangaro has officially commissioned the construction of a 7KM Muramba-Rwere road.
The Ugx 716M road project is to be undertaken by MUKAKI Construction company limited. The construction is slated to start from Muramba church Junction to Kabuhoro, Kanombe, to Ragandu up to Rwere.
The function was held at Muramba primary school where Hon Bitangaro revealed that he lobbied the money from the office of the President in an effort to ease service delivery in his constituency especially the transport sector.
The Legislator requested the residents to cooperate with the contractors and provide necessary support during the construction adding that more projects are still coming their way though he was voted out.
The Engineer in charge of construction under MUKAKI construction company limited Nobert Zungu asked for total compliance by the residents and hailed the Legislator and other stakeholders for entrusting them with such a project.
The Kisoro District engeneer James Karamira hailed Hon Bitangaro for delivering his pledges and warned the residents against blocking drainage channels stressing that the act renders the road to quick detoriaration.
Karamira was concerned that the District only receives UGX 55M for maintaining it’s roads which According to him is very small portion to help them fulfill the required road network.
The Kisoro District Chief Administrative Officer Onzu Ismail hailed the Legislator for thinking about his people thus calling upon the community to embrace the project for it’s meant to benifit them.
The Muramba sub county leadership led by James Nzitatira promised to fully monitor this project to avoid shody works which are at times infiltrated into such Development.
