Fallen Kyambogo University student laid to rest in Bushenyi


BUSHENYI– It was a somber mood at Rwagasha village in Rwentuha town council, Bushenyi district on Easter Monday as Kyambogo University student was laid to rest.

Karen Akampurira a daughter to Fred Mbika Kibara the National Resistance Movement Chairperson of Rwentuuha town council in Bushenyi District was a second year student persuing Quantitative surveying studies at Kyambogo University.

Akampurira passed away on Saturday after experiencing headache however postmortem Report indicates that she succumbed to Asthma.

The bishop of West Ankole diocese Johnson Twinomujuni used the burial ceremony to tell the mourners that there is time for everything thing and everyone has his/her time.

Bishop Twinomujuni Assured the mourners remain and prepare their ways so that they are not caught unawarely.

He went on ask mourners to always work hard immitating the good example of Kibara who has worked hard to have his family Prosper.

Speaking at the same function, the  Minister for General duties in the Office of the Prime Minister Mary Busingye Karoro Okurut encouraged mourners to desist from fake rumors making rounds on social media especially pinning the Government of kidnaps and murder of Ugandans.

Karoro went on to condemn the murder of Boda boda cyclists that is becoming rampant in the country calling upon the public to remain vigilant so that the habit is dealt with.

The deceased’s father Fred Mbika Kibara hailed mourners hailed the public for standing with him during this trying moment to the day she saw off her daughter.

Kibara told the mourners that Akampurira left a huge gap that will be hard to be filled.

Michael Mawanda Maranga the Igara East county Legislator asked the mourners to always pray and put their trust in the almighty for he is the master of our lives.

Mawanda was sudened that Akampurira died at an early age yet she would have been of great value to the country in the future.

The ceremony attracted a number of government officials including Minister for Lands Betty Namisango Kamya, Bushenyi District Woman MP elect Annet Katusiime Mugisha, Sheema North MP Naome Kibaju, Bushenyi District Chairperson Jaffari Basajabalaba, Bushenyi District NRM Chairman Alhajji Hassan basajabalaba among other dignitaries.

Akampurira died at age of 21.
