KAMPALA– The Uganda Police Force UPF has mounted a hunt for the yet to be identified thieves who stormed the residence of Chinese investor in Kyambogo and took away with huge sums of money.
Information disseminated by D/ASP Nuwamanya Samuel Binuzire the OC CID at Kyambogo Police station, on Saturday morning at around 8AM, four people (three gentlemen and a lady) dressed in attire of National water and sewerage cooperation went to Kyambogo Lower Estate Endinburg Avenue to a residence occupied by Chinese.
They knocked at the door pretending to be workers of NWSC, upon entering, they held the cook who was the only one at home captive, tied him up as they executed the Robbery mission.
Binuzire in a press statement adds that, the House maid who also came minutes shortly was also held captive as the robbers equally tied her and locked her up in the washroom.
“Indeed the Robbery took place and cash over 85M was stollen, 4500USD that was inside the safe was also taken (the thieves broke the safe)” he noted.
Binuzire adds that even though Cameras are mounted in the residence and the footages are there, the assailants couldn’t be identified since they covered their faces with helmets.
Police has since registered the case at Kyambogo Police station (Lower Police post) under Reference number SD 07/31/03/2021.CRB 027/2021.
