Ugandan farmers urged to adopt to Modern farming practices

MBARARA– Farmers have been asked to always go for comprehensive trainings on plants and animals to get equiped with skills and knowledge in a bid to transform Uganda’s economy.

This was sounded by the vice Chancellor for Makerere University Barnabas Nawangwe during his visit at Excel Hort consult Agribusiness incubator in Biharwe division Mbarara city North on Monday 5th April 2021.

Nawangwe noted that comprehensive training facility for plants and animals will help farmers to acquire more skills, experience and knowledge to add more incomes as well as improving the country’s economic status.

He appealed to all Ugandans to involve in modern Agriculture since Uganda is an Agricultural backed economy.

According to Nawangwe, this will give them competitive advantage over many countries hence providing things right and this is all possible through acquiring knowledge from such facilities.

In his remarks the head of natural resource and climate smart agriculture at Excel Hort consult Agribusiness incubator Robert Sabimaana noted that they are faced with many challenges such as pesticides, climate change, market among others.
