Three students assaulted by unknown assailants


NEWS– The  police in Ogur is hunting for unknown assailants who on Monday night assaulted Three Students of Ogur Vocational School in Lira district.

The Group is said to be operating under a coded name Gonza and comprises of young people who uses drugs such as Maurijuana.

Some of the suspected leaders of criminal gang have been identified as Obua Sseke, Phillips Okello and Tobby Alweny, all residents of the area.

Jimmy Ocen, the director of the institute told the press that the gang waylaid his students who were returning to their hostels  and attacked them. 

He says the group is notorious for drinking and smoking opium in a nearby trading center and have become a security risk to the dwellers.

He meanwhile accused the area Oriotigo village Chairperson Jimmy Omara of siding with the gang stressing that he is also being hunted by police.

A case of assault has been registered at Ogur Outpost under SD 06/06/04 2021.

A police constable who investigating the case but not authorised to speak to the media says they are hunting down the suspects who are eqaully accused of recently attacking pupils of Ogur Central Primary School.
