Ex-M23 rebel survives lynching by an angry mob in Kisoro


KISORO– A 23-year old man suspected to be an Ex-M23, a rebel group that fights in Northern DR Congo narrowly survived lynching after angry residents of Russia cell in Kisoro Municipality caught him selling a stolen sheep.

The LC I Chairperson of Kisoro Hill Village Sam Munezero told the media that early this morning at around 6:00 am he was waken up by residents that people are killing a man suspected to have stolen a sheep stolen from Kibigu.

The suspect Rodgers Innocent 23, from Burera Kikoro, confessed to have stolen the sheep from Kibigu with his coleague who is on run. 

Rodgers revealed that he is a causual labourer and works for Congolese man who resides in Muramba Sub County of whom he declined not to reveal his name.

By press time the Police had not yet reached at the scene.
