NEWS– A Form Two student committed suicide on Saturday morning after he allegedly had an argument with his father over a lost amount of money.
The Nyaguda High School student is said to have taken poison in Uriri in Bondo West, Siaya County when his father confronted him over a 1000 shillings he was forbidden to use.
His elder sister, Mercy Amutu, 17, said her father confronted his brother very early in the morning when their mother was away.
Area County Commissioner Hebron Nyala said the boy left a suicide note protesting the confiscation of his money by the father.
“He took a poison and efforts by her elder brother to rescue him were rendered futile as he was found dead in his house,” added Nyala.
Nyala urges youths to think over matters before taking tragic decisions.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to Bondo sub-county hospital morgue awaiting postmortem.
The suspect was arrested and taken to police station and police have launched investigations into the alleged incident.
