“It was erroneous”, State House clarifies on dissolving Cabinet

KAMPALA– The state House senior Press Secretary Lindah Nabussayi Wamboka has come out to clarify that the President held a luncheon to the outgoing cabinet not dissolving it.

Earlier reports indicated that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni had dissolved the current cabinet ahead of his swearing on May 12th.

However in a latest press release, Nabussayi points out that the last cabinet meeting will be held next week when the Ministers confirm the minutes.

“CORRECTION I have pulled down the tweet saying cabinet is dissolved. This is to clarify that the luncheon was in honour of the outgoing cabinet. The last meeting will be next week when cabinet confirms the minutes. My apologies” she posted.

This comes with just 8 days left to his swearing in for a sixth elective term, on 12th May 2021.

President Museveni told his Ministers that “This term was filled with challenges; locusts, rising water levels, and the COVID-19 pandemic.  However, we managed to come together in these crucial times to serve diligently. I salute you for the hard work.”

“I thank the members of the cabinet collectively and individually for serving the country for the last five years.” He added.
