SGA security guard clobbers suspected thief to Coma in Kisoro


KISORO– A security guard in Kisoro District is in Police detention for allegedly clobbering a resident to coma on suspicion of being a thief.

This incident happened on Tuesday at Total petrol station in Kisoro Municipality when the guard only identified as Allan of SGA while on duty badly clobbered one Sedume a resident of Busaro village, muganza Parish, Chahi Sub County Kisoro District.

An eye witness says, Sedume was negotiating with a boda boda cyclist at Total petrol station when the security ascended onto him with a batoon and left him unconscious.

The Security guard immediately went into hiding in the petrol station toilets and an angry mob followed him up until Police rushed to the scene for his rescue.

Sources at Kisoro Police station revealed to our reporter that Sedume was rushed to Kisoro hospital where he is admitted in coma while the security guard was taken to Kisoro police for interrogation.

The Kibande village Chairperson Charles Sezibera condemns the acts by security guards and accused total petrol station of employing non armed security guards which put station’s property at high risk of being stolen.

Residents of Busamba accused security guards at total petrol station of mistreating them alleging that they previously killed some of their fellows.
