Rwandan National drinks himself to death in Kabale


KABALE– The Police in Rubaya Sub County, Kabale district are investigating the circumstances under which a 65 Rwandan national who was working as a causual labourer in the area died.

Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate identifies the deceased Rwandan as Rwandan national as Rusangara Musiramu who had lived in Rubaya for over 10 years as a causual labourer but his exact place of origin is unknown to residents.

Maate said that the deceased was today May 6th 2021 found dead on a roadside in Buramba village, Rubaya Sub County in Kabale district but had no injuries.

Reports obtained by our reporter who visited the scene indicate that the deceased Rusangara was a habitual drunkard and preliminary Investigations indicate that he could have died due to over drinking.

Maate said that the deceased’s body has been picked by the Police and taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary pending postmortem.

A case of sudden death was reported at Rubaya Police Post under reference number SD 06/06/05/2021 to help in Investigations with hope of establishing the deceased relatives in Rwanda so that they can take his body for burial.
