MITOOMA– The National Resistance Movement (NRM) on Tuesday 11th May delivered bicycles of Village and Parish party Chairpersons.
Mitooma district has 612 villages/cells and 77 parishes/wards.
According to Mr Julius Kagina, the NRM Administrative Secretary for Mitooma district, the bicycles consignment was well received and are all in good condition.
Mr Kagina told our reporter that they will soon hold meeting with these chairpersons and plan for handover to the target beneficiaries.
The bicycles were pledged by NRM’s National Chairman and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the start of his 5th term in office.
The Mitooma District NRM chairman Mr Wilberforce Byaboneka told the press that the delivered bicycles are 63 less compared to the number of anticipated beneficiaries.
He adds that engagements are already on with concerned party stakeholders to have the remaining bicycles delivered before handing them over to the Chairpersons.
Mitooma district is the second district in Greater Bushenyi to confirm reception of the bicycles after Bushenyi District who received theirs also earlier this week.
This is the second round of donation after the party gave out motorcycles for all Sub-county Chairpersons to help them in mobilising for the party support.
