KAMPALA– The Ministry of Education has asked schools and parents to delay the reporting back of students until further notice.
In a circular issued by the Permanent Secretary Alex Kakoza on June 4th, the Ministry also asked that the schools to first wait on sending students back to holidays as they wait for another brief.
Students from primary one to three were expected to report back to school on June 7th, while their counterparts in primary four and five were expected to break off for holidays as of yesterday June 4th .
The semi candidates (P6, S3, S5) were also expected to report back for a special term on Monday June 7th, 2021 but the current abrupt change concerns them as well.
This comes at a time when the country has so far registered 51,006 total cumulative confirmed cases and 374 total virus deaths since March 2020 when the virus invaded the country.
