23 drunkards arrested in Kabale for flouting Curfew guidelines


KABALE– The Police in Kabale have 23 suspects in detention and 30 motorcycles impounded for allegedly flouting ministry of health guidelines and presidential directives.

According to Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, these were arrested for involving in acts likely to spread Coronavirus.

The suspects that include the proprietors of Bombokya and T&J bars and lodges in Kigongi along Kabale Mbarara highway, were among those illegally operating, from where most of them were picked.

Maate warns that the operations against reckless Ugandans who fail to adhere to the lockdown restrictions will continue as they wait for the fine structures from the Secretary to the treasury.

The case of flouting Ministry of Health guidelines has since been registered at Kabale Central Police station under reference number SD 65/08/05/2021.
