The Shadow Cabinet led by Joyce Bagala, shadow Minister of Information & Anti-Corruption who is also the Mityana District Woman Member of Parliament were on Thursday morning addressing the press at Parliament on the Covid Relief Measures announced by Government.

Bagala proposed that this money should be doubled to atleast Shs 200,000 each.

“We demand that the money proposed to be given to vulnerable persons be increased to a reasonable sum from 100,000/=  to at least 200,000/= to help households survive.”- Bagala stated.

She added “We also want the scope of beneficiaries to be expanded to benefit the entire country & not cities only”.

The legislator further called for an extensive debate of the government Covid-19 interventions including vaccination of Ugandans.

“Government doesn’t have a clear plan on vaccination of those who haven’t yet been vaccinated. We need to debate all these measures as Parliament”- Bagala added.
