KAMPALA– There is a daily increase of hope of defeating COVID-19 among Ugandans as 607 patients recover in a day.
According to statistics from the Ministry of health, 607 recoveries hike the country’s cumulative to 54,158 of people who have defeated the scourge.
The statistics show that of the 7,696 COVID-19 tests done on 30 June, 1,048 new cases were recorded increasing the country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 82,082.
The Ministry of health also registered 50 new Covid 19 deaths rising the country’s deaths toll to 1,111.
As of today, 861,645 people have already been vaccinated against the deadly pandemic and 1,086 patients are still admitted in the health facilities battling the disease.
978 of the new cases are contacts and alerts with 434 from Kampala, Wakiso 76, Tororo 70, Kalungu 40, Hoima 35, Mbale 31, Kibuku 28, Luwero 22, Nakasongola 21, Kalaki 18, Kiryandongo 16, Kyotera 17, Rakai 14, Butaleja 15, Soroti 15, Masaka 13, Jinja 12.
Sironko and Bukwo 10 each, Rubanda, Lyantonde, Ngora and Namayingo 9 cases each, Kanungu 8, Pallisa, Sembabule, Arua, Kween 7 each, Kaberamaido and Kisoro each has 6, Mityana, Bukomansimbi and Kyankwanzi with 5 cases, Apac 4, Adjumani 4, Moroto 3, Mukono 3.
Rukungiri, Masindi, Mbarara, Nebbi, Packwach, Gulu 2 cases each, Kiruhuura, Kabale, Bududa, Yumbe, Amuru, Kagadi and Isingiro each registered one case.
The ministry also confirmed 3 cases from truck drivers.
