KANUNGU– The Kinkiizi West member of Parliament Hon. James Ruugi Niriingyimaana Kaberuka has made it clear that being appointed a minister would have been an opportunity to appreciate however, God places people differently and for a purpose.
Hon Kaberuka made the remarks on Sunday morning while sharing with the people of Kinkiizi West on their WhatsApp forum.
In his messages, the Kinkiizi county West second term legislator asked his electorate to continue observing the recommended SOPs in order to stay safe in a struggle to curb down the spread of covid-19 in Kanungu and Uganda at large.
On behalf of the people of Kinkiizi West, Veteran journalist Patson Baraire asked the people to freely engage the Parliamentarian since they could have some challenges in this pandemic.
Led by Kihihi Town council district councillor Hon. Rodgers Tumwesigye, the constituents thanked Hon. Kaberuka for the selfless services rendered to Kanungu and checking on them always.
Tumwesigye described Kaberuka as a legislator they had never seen before who serves with the people. He also thanked him for various projects including Kanyamihini- Kiruruma road, Nyakatunguru – Kanyamihini-road, Kinyamashe-Kanyambeho road, among many others.
However, Joshua Rukundo the district councillor for Nyanga Subcounty informed the member of Parliament that there are people in his area who neighbor the National park and are still affected by wild animals (Amari).
The legislator in response noted that parliament is already looking at the issue both in long and medium terms of fencing and assessing the damage by animals for compensation assuring him that the law has already been passed to cater for them.
Among other issues that were submitted and discussed are the CHICO Road construction company challenges which he said should be started at the level of Local government.
Others were the Ishasha bridge that connects Nyamigoye to Butogota Town council, Mukibungo – Kentomi road in Nyakinoni subcounty, pushing for Kihihi to become a Municipality, lobby for a share on the IMF as Kanungu district.
The MP also addressed on the delay of the money for the elderly, Push for the regulation of COVIDEX prices countrywide, Follow up of the already signed Kabumba road contract, Nyamigoye Bushoro electricity plan and the partial power blackout in the subcounties of Kihihi, Nyakinoni and town council stressing that which he is aware of the failed transformer in Kiruruma that would be worked on the next week.
Asked about how the tourism sector roads will benefit the people of Kinkiizi West, Hon Kaberuka explained that Tourism cannot exist without Kinkiizi West and people should have hope in the benefits to come.
He asked them to continue praying for him since the pandemic has traversely hindered his service delivery.
