Telecom Network MAST excites Rukiga district residents


RUKIGA– Residents of Kibanda Parish in Kamwezi Sub county, Rukiga district have got a reason to smile after getting news that they will soon be having a telecommunication network MAST (Transmitter) in their area.

Kibanda Parish has 12 cells but according to locals, only 2 can access clear telecommunication network but others are always disturbed by Rwandan Airtel and MTN networks.

Cells in Kibanda are Kashaasha, Kamuuha, Kakanyoro, Kitinda, Kinyamozi, Katungu, Ruboogo, Rwemigungu, Kakamba, Rushojwa, Nyabunyungu and Rwanyakiju.

Our reporter has today visited the scene where the said MAST will be constructed in Kinyamozi cell in the hilly land of Mr Kayenda.

Christopher Kayenda an area resident, told this reporter that they have already agreed with MTN Telecommunication Company and they are waiting for the next step.

Didas Karegyeya, the Kinyamozi Village Chairperson welcomed the idea and thanked Hon Kamusiime Caroline who initiated and is spearheading the process. Karegyeya narrates that  this will end the longtime network problems they have been facing.

Mr Tedison Nuwagaba the Kamwezi Sub County Chairperson also visited the site today with officials from MTN who confirmed to the residents that works will soon commence.

He advised the natives of Kamwezi to welcome the idea overwhelmingly saying that Network has always been their problem however hopes are high that the development will solve all.

Deus Kanshabe, an official from MTN Uganda assured residents that before this year ends, they will have finished putting up this MAST in the earmarked area.

Kanshabe noted that this project is being geared by the area legislator Hon Kamusiime Caroline who requested for it and kept following her request.
