HAPPY INTERNATIONAL YOUTHS’ DAY.

Today 12th Aug 2021, we the youth in Uganda, join the rest of the world to celebrate an international youths day.

The International Youth Day is being commemorated under the theme,
Transforming Food Systems, Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health

This year’s theme highlights that the success of a global effort will not be achieved without the meaningful participation of young people.

This day provides the Youth with a chance to celebrate and mainstream young peoples’ voices, actions and initiatives as well as their important, universal and equitable engagement.

Uganda has a youthful population whose potential has to fully be tapped into so as the country can realize a middle income status and become an upper middle-income nation by 2040 with an average GDP per capita of US $ 9500.

Youths of this country are the strongest blessing because they can dream and make every dream come true.

They are a combination of high– energies, intelligent brains, and smartness which the the formula for success for any country.

“Take risks in your life. If you win; you may lead”

Young people should therefore be at the forefront of global change and innovation and if empowered, they can be key agents for change, development and peace.

However, if they they are left on society’s margins, the entire community will be impoverished.

Let us ensure that all young people have every opportunity to participate fully in the lives of their societies.
