Rukungiri district leaders to meet Museveni over referral hospital


RUKUNGIRI– Leaders in Rukungiri district are preparing for a meeting with the President of Uganda HE. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni over a Distrct hospital.

This was on Thursday 9th September 2021 sounded as the district officials inducted newly elected district councilors during the induction session at the district council hall.

This was contained in Dr. Akasiima Mucunguzi’s response to the Councilors concerns about the delay of the construction of this government facility yet it was earlier pledged by the president.

Our reporter was able to establish that a meeting involving the district leaders and the president was one of the recommendations passed by the 2016-2021 district council.

Councilors narrated that patients are charged huge sums of money in private facilities in the district as they move to access advanced health care due to absence of Government health centres.

The people of Rukungiri have for along time been crying foul over lack of a government hospital and University.

The President of Uganda HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa in 2016 election campaigns pledged a government hospital to Rukungiri but nothing has ever been done up to now.
