KANUNGU– As the news of the latest reshuffle for District Police Commanders continue to flick in, the former Kanungu DPC Julius Tugumenawe has been confirmed as Kiboga District Police Commander.
Prior to the latest transfer, Tugumenawe had served for close to 4 years as DPC in Kanungu where he was credited for maintaining peace and order.
Tugumenawe was moved to Kanungu at the heist of political tension that characterised the 2016 elections but he managed to cool down the political tempers when he remained neutral all through the period he was in Kanungu.
Tugumenawe has been using the local radio stations in the district to educate the communities on their responsibilities and would make it categorically clear that he would not defend any criminal.
In the recent concluded elections, Tugumenawe was once again seen as an able police community mobiliser after he oversaw a peaceful election period.
