Kabale RDC vows to use iron hand in enforcing COVID-19 protocols


KABALE– The Kabale Resident District commissioner (RDC) Godfrey Nyakahuma has vowed to arrest shop attendants and motorcyclists found operating past curfew hours.

Nyakahuma says that local people including shop attendants and motorcyclists have continuously failed to adhere to president Museveni’s directives and ended up flouting curfew hours which is among the issues increasing Covid-19 in the area.

RDC Nyakahuma revealed the plans to deploy more security officers around Kabale town and in different trading centers are underway to arrest any shop attendants and motorcyclists operating beyond curfew hours.

He is also concerned that some people have continuously violated the covid-19 protocols deliberately set by the Ministry of Health calling for intensified operations hence the need to increase on numbers of officers.

He said that working past curfew hours is putting the lives of people at risk of contracting COVID-19 as well as spreading it.

He asked the public not to pretend as if there is no coronavirus yet Kabale district is battling a surge in number of covid-19 cases.
