Mbarara City boda boda cyclist murdered, motorcycle stolen


MBARARA– The Police in Mbarara City are investigating circumstances under which a a Boda Boda cyclist was found lying lifeless.

Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Region Police spokesperson told the press that on Tuesday 12th October 2021 at around 8:48Am, Police was informed of a lifeless body lying Boma cell Kamukuzi Division Mbarara City.

Police responded to the scene and identified the body as that of Kamugisha Damiano alias Kazaho male adult 30, a boda boda rider at Mbarara Regional referral hospital main gate stage.

He was found lying facing down behind the fence near a garden with marks of violence nearby the roadside, blood oozing out of both the mouth and nose according to Kasasira.

The Police PRO adds that the deceased could have been hit with a blunt object most likely a hammer which shattered his skull and his Motorcycle later robbed by unknown assailants.

The body was recovered and taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem as the hunt for assailants continues under reference number SDF23/12/2021 at Mbarara Central Police Station.

“As security we urge all boda boda operators to stop operating beyond curfew hours because they make themselves easy targets for criminals” ASP Kasasira.

The stolen Motorcycle is Bajaj Boxer registration number UFJ 010U.
