KABALE– At least 127 secondary school teachers in Kabale district are likely to miss their October monthly pay for failing to submit the required documents in the registry office.
According to the Kabale Acting district Education officer Moses Bwengye Tumwijukye, the affected teachers include 04 from Kamuganguzi Secondary school, St Barnabas Karujanga SS 23, Rukore SS 11, Kahondo SS 08, Lake Bunyonyi community vocational SS 08, Buranga SS 15, Kigata SS, St Francis College Kyanamira 21, Rwesasi SS 09 and Kamuronko SS 10.
Tumwijukye, said the district discovered that a number of employees used fake documents to access government payrolls something he says dilutes the Education standards in the country.
The Kabale district Principal Human resource officer, Jacenta Tushabomwe, said all the affected teachers are required to hand in their files containing appointments, posting, confirmation letters and academic documents, Education service commission number among others documents.
Tushabomwe, said that all teachers have been given up to the end of October to have submitted the required documents or else, they risk missing the October salary.
A senior auditor in the office of the auditor general’s office, Andrew Ahumuza, told our reporter that the intension for all teachers to have their documents in the office of Principal human resource officer is to track the ghost workers, who have been accessing the district’s payrolls illegally.
