Number of deaths in Swift Safaris bus suspected bomb blast rise


NEWS– The Uganda Police Force have given an update on a number of confirmed fatalities in Swift Safaris bus suspected terror.

According to CP Fred Enanga the police spokesperson, the number of confirmed deaths have since risen to two from one person reported earlier.

Enanga revealed that a team of bomb experts has already been dispatched to Lungala, along the Kampala-Masaka highway, where a deadly explosion occurred on a bus belonging to Swift Safaris Bus company registration number UAU 989T at around 5pm as it traveled from Kampala to Bushenyi. 

Enanga noted that several other victims including injured persons have been evacuated from the scene.

The explosion comes just three days after the bomb attack in Komamboga.  According to Enanga, the scene has been cordoned off pending a thorough assessment and investigation by the bomb experts.
