Several feared dead, scores injured in Swift bus suspected bomb blast


NEWS– The Bushenyi district bound Swift Safaris bus registration number UAU 989T is said to have been hit by an explosive suspected to be another bomb blast at Kavule along Masaka Road.

Information from a traveller who preferred anonymity indicates that at least one passenger has died and several others escaped with injuries though other sources claim that two people had died. “I witnessed this” he said.

The passenger goes on to thank God for the driver who was able to park the bus at the side of the road safely. 

“This has just happened today 25/10/2021. Pray for our country” said the passenger who escaped unhurt.

The Police has not yet issued a confirmatory statement on the said stalemate.

The Incident comes barely two days after the bombers detonated the explosive at Komamboga based Digida pork joint claiming a single life.

The Islamic State fighters on Monday morning claimed to have carried out the attack though the Police say they are still investigating who exactly did so.
