UPDF speaks out on suspected terror attack on Swift Safaris bus

NEWS– The Uganda People’s Defense Forces UPDF have come out to reveal the truth in Swift Safaris bus suspected terror attack.

Brig. Flavia Byekwaso, the UPDF spokesperson stressed that the reported suspected attack explosion on a bus belonging to Swift Safaris Limited at happened at Lungala in Mpigi district.

UPDF confirmed that one person is reported to have died from the explosion.

Byekwaso however called for vigilance among citizens stressing that terror threats are real and a danger to their lives.

“We need to be on high alert, the terror threats are real and such incidents are likely to occur”, Byekwaso said 

Brig. Byekwaso however noted that the forces are heightening operations against the terrorists calling for calmness.

All these come just a few days after another terror attack in Metropolitan Kampala claimed lives of two people leaving many others nursing wounds.

It should be remembered that UK warned against terror attacks in Uganda but security watered them down saying that the forces are ready to silence everyone tampering with the peace in the country.

President Museveni is expected to address the country men and woman on Thursday this week on the state of COVID-19 and security in the country.
