RUKUNGIRI– The Uganda Revenue Authority in Rukungiri District has awarded taxpayers that have voluntarily fulfilled their tax obligations since registering with URA.
These were awarded on Tuesday in a colorful event that took place at the URA Rukungiri offices along Rubabo Road in Rukungiri Municipality.
Among those awarded; Shree Varahi Enterprises Limited and Rwesasi Enterprises Limited bagged the Vantage award.
Rwesasi registered an average Tax Contribution growth of 71% while Shree registered 11%.
Both companies registered 100% of on time filing for both monthly and Annual Tax returns.
Speaking at the Ceremony, Twesigamukama Peter, URA Station Head Rukungiri DT Office commended the taxpayers for their contribution towards the development of the Country and encourages all the other taxpayers to embrace voluntary compliance so that they also benefit from such URA initiatives.
“Thank you for developing Uganda through your Tax contributions, I therefore encourage all the other taxpayers to embrace voluntary compliance so that they could also benefit from such initiative”- Twesigamukama added.
Joram Musinguzi, who represented Rwesasi Enterprises Limited appreciated URA management for the awards and committed to always comply voluntarily.
“I like to file my returns on time, “Mr. Ankit Kumar director of Shree Varahi Enterprises said.
URA officials Mr Mathew Mugabi the Assistant Commissioner Tax Investigations, Ishta Nazziwa the Assistant Commissioner Administration and Richard Mugisha Regional Manager South Western Region delivered the awards to the taxpayers.
According to Uganda Revenue Authority, these Visits are part of the Taxpayers Appreciation Season as URA celebrates taxpayers for their economic Contribution.
