BUSHENYI– There was a high turn up of pupils and students at most primary and secondary schools in Bushenyi district this morning as schools opened for second term.
Some of the schools that registered a high turn up include Bweranyangi Girls school, St Kagwa High School, Bweranyagi Junior Primary, Parental care Bushenyi and St Kagwa Primary school.
Kamugisha PK, the Head Teacher, St Kagwa Bushenyi high school attributed the good turn up to enthusiasm among parents and students because of the short holiday.
He advised all the school heads to observe the standard operating procedures set by the Ministry of Health to curb the spread of covid-19.
Trevor Yebazamukama, the Head teacher of Parental Care Primary School Bushenyi told this reporter that at least 50% of the pupils reported on day one.
Yebazamukama added that since Sunday, both old and new pupils have been flocking the school to clear the requirements and those who are still home are expected to report before Tuesday May 10th 2022.
He advises parents to always make sure that pupils report back to schools in time so that they match up with fellows in learning.
