This was sounded by the chairperson of Urban Association Authority of Uganda Dr Sanya Wilson who was speaking to our reporter at Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality headquarters on after a meeting for Municipality Mayors as they discussed about several government development programs. All mayors from the South Western and Kigezi region attended the meeting.

Sanya who also doubles as the Koboko Municipality mayor said that the government creates cities, municipalities and town-councils to benefit citizens thus the responsibility of maintaining proper hygiene, proper garbage disposal and smartness remains theirs.

He thanked the government of Uganda for giving motorcycles to the municipality/town-council heads arguing that it has eased transportation as they perform and monitor government programs in their respective areas.

He further appreciated government efforts of urbanizing the country revealing that Uganda now has 10 cities, 31 Municipalities, 91 Municipal divisions and 580 Town-councils.
