KAMPALA– Its not all well with the Makerere University Students Fraternity following the death of one of their star students, Babirye Petrinah who passed on just a week to her graduation.
The dead Babirye 24, had just completed her Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and Information Technology and was among the students set to graduate on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the 72nd graduation ceremony.
According to university authorities, Babirye died at St. Francis Hospital, Nsambye where she had been admitted with a diabetic attack.
The Makerere University Guild President, Ms. Shamim Nambasa confirmed Babirye’s death and said the students’ body held a vigil on Tuesday evening at the late’s parents home in Kisaasi, while the burial is slated for today (Wednesday May 18) in her home district of Jinja.
“It is so unfortunate that we have lost a student that was waiting for her graduation day that is a week from now. We held vigil for her yesterday in Kisasi and she will be buried today in Jinja, we shall forever miss her and May her soul rest in eternal peace,” Nambassa said.
