KABALE- The Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (industry) Hon. David Bahati has asked Christians in Kabale district to prioritize God’s work.

This was contained in his message read for him by the Kabale Resident District Commissioner Godfrey Nyakahuma during a thanksgiving service of St. Philips Bugongi Estates Church of Uganda as it marked 40 years of service in God’s Ministry.

Quoting the Book of Haggai Chapter 1: 4 to build the temple of God, Bahati said that God commands us to prioritize his own work and that in doing God’s work, there is no loss.

Bahati urged Christians to give generously so that they build for the Lord and love one another as members of one family.

“The Bible tells us in Haggai Chapter 1: 4 to build the temple of God. God commands us to prioritize his own work. In doing God’s work, there is no loss. So, I urge you to give generously so that we can build for the Lord” Bahati told Christians.

Bahati appealed to Christians to utilize government programs such as the Parish Development Model to support household transformation programs and reminded them to love one another as members of one family.

“We are challenged to work hard to improve the incomes of our households. Brothers and sisters, wealthy and spirit filled Christians make a healthy, prosperous and stronger church; and a stronger and self-sustaining church provides a moral compass for our country” Bahati said.

Preaching during the service, the Kigezi diocesan secretary Rev Canon Erasmus Turyatunga asked Christians to avoid conflicting with each other and reminded them that earthly things cannot be consumed to zero.

Can. Turyatunga said that conflicts among Christians is a sign of disobeying God hence asking them to embark on forgiving one another to become one before God.  He hailed St. Philips Bugongi Estates Church of Uganda for spearheading revival in the diocese.
