PHOTOS: Exciting moments you missed at Bakiga Nation Rukundo Egumeho fest 9th edition


KAMPALA- 3RD June 2022 will remain in the minds of Ugandans especially those from Kigezi region given the sights and sounds at the Rukundo egumeho Bakiga Nation fest that took place on the memorable martyrs’ day.

Rukundo Egumeho cultural festival “apparently one of the biggest cultural events on the Ugandan cultural events calendar” 9th edition was, under the theme ‘Back to our roots’.

While the Catholics were celebrating Martyrs’ Day in Namugongo, over 7,000 Bakiga were jumping and foot-stomping just like it is done in the hills of Kabale and beyond at Lugogo former Zoe grounds.

Bakiga Nation is a celebration of Culture, Togetherness, and Solidarity of the Bakiga.

The Bakiga celebrated their culture through music, games, dance, drama and merchandise, with meat and brew flowing slickly.

The day was graced with performances by Kigezi artistes like Fact Zamaani, Amani Amaniga, Haka Mukiga, Ashaba Music, Elvis Bakesigaki and the troupe.
