COVID-19 cases drop to 34 following Ministry of Health alerts

Tension mounts Masaka as 45 students test positive for COVID-19

KAMPALA– The Ministry of Health has announced that 34 new cases were registered across the country on June 18th 2022, from 111 cases which were registered the previous day.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health on Monday June 20th, Kampala remains the epicenter of the infection where 29 cases were registered.

Other cases were recorded in Wakiso District where 3 cases were registered and cases were reported in Buliisa District in Bunyoro Sub Region. 

The statement from the Ministry of Health indicated that the total cummulative confirmed cases since March 2020 when the first case was reported in Uganda is now 166,954 and the test positivity stands at 1.7% .

The statement disclosed that only 7 people are admitted across the country where as a total of 21 million dozes of vaccines have been administered.
