VP Alupo urges youths to learn Uganda’s history


KATAKWI– The Vice President Major Jessica Alupo Apel has asked the youths to learn about Uganda’s history so that they are able to defend the country’s sovereignty. 

Vice President Alupo made the remarks on Saturday while presiding over the pass out of 2184 student from 17 different Patriotism aclubs in Katakwi District. 

The function took place at Katakwi Secondary Schools in Katakwi District and was witnessed by the district leaders, opinion leaders and religious leaders. 

The School Patriotism Club program was launched in 2009 by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and shares a  journey in response to patriotic calls to protect, build and defend the sovereignty of Uganda.

Vice President Alupo said said Uganda is on the road to economic empowerment and this calls for the youth to understand what the country has gone through over 30 years so that they can appreciate what it means to contribute to national development. 

The Vice President asked the people of Katakwi to embrace the government development programs especially the Parish Development Model programme so that they can get out of poverty.
