Rukungiri Municipality Town Clerk Badru Mayanja elevated, transferred to Kisoro as CAO


RUKUNGIRI– The Rukungiri Municipality Town Clerk Hajji Badru Mayanja has been elevated and transfered to Kisoro district as Chief Administrative Officer.

Mayanja has been holding this office from November 2020 after Alexander Kikwaya’s tenure and is well known to have fought for a cordial relationship between Municipality and District Local Government leaders.

He will be remembered for having opened up the sanitary lanes to business shops to cater for low income earners, reduce dirt and insecurity, Consolidated team work among staff. 

Mayanja also encouraged customer care that led the Municipality to winning the Pearl of Africa Public service award 2021/2022 and through his lobbying skills, the Municipality got Ugx 141M and laid a foundation for a storied office block.

He has recommended a number of staff for promotion and indeed they are big people in other Districts, been able to relate the technical team with political leaders as well as encouraging cordial relationship between the municipality and the media.

“Am so humbled for I have been able to create good working relationships with, RDC, DISO, Police, Judicially, Prisons, Head teachers, Sports fraternity, business community, different religious groups without discrimination, Related with the old and young, Men and women, The poor and rich, supported Education in the municipality and many others” he told this reporter.

The development comes just days after Rukungiri Municipality recently won the Pearl of Africa Public service award 2021/2022.

According to Hajj. Badru Mayanja, in this assessment, 4 standards of service delivery were considered and these included; Client engagement, Systems and processes- (information flow and records management), Management of resources such as budgeting and strategic planning as well as Leadership.

He will be replaced by the incumbent Kisoro Municipality Town Clerk.
