Rukungiri fraternity shocked by Ruhinda Sub County Chief’s mysterious death


NEWS– Rukungiri District on Tuesday morning woke up to shock following the untimely demise of a Sub County chief.

The deceased is Reuben Tucungwirwe a resident of Bikungu village, Nyeibingo Parish in Kebisoni Sub County, Rukungiri District though he has been serving as the Ruhinda Sub County Chief.

Tucungwirwe according to reliable sources died from his home in the wee hours of Tuesday morning suspected to have succumbed to hypertension.

An official from Rukungiri District local government told this reporter that they were on Monday night charting together with him on their what’s up group about Parish Development adding that they were shocked to hear that before the next morning he was pronounced dead.

“Mukuruke data collection exercise. Murabire omuntanuru, you will not be defeated by simple things anymore.”Translated as ‘welcome back from Data collection exercise. You have passed through the kiln, you will not be defeated by simple things anymore” this was his last message on Monday night at about 9:30pm.

The deceased previously served in the same capacity in Buyanja and Bwambara Sub Counties before he was posted to Ruhinda.

The late Tucungwirwe is survived with 6 children.

Condolences pouring in eulogise Tucungwirwe to have been a down to earth man, who loved the church and equally served those who thought his assistance.

“With deep sorrow I announce the death of Pillar Tucungwirwe Reuben Gomborora chief Ruhinda. He has been a pillar in Kanyanga CoU Parish” said Ven Amos Katushabe Archdeacon Kakinga.
