Bukimbiri County by-election polling materials touch Kisoro soils


NEWS– The Electoral commission Kisoro branch on Tuesday morning received Polling materials for the Bukimbiri county by-election slated for Thursday this week.

The materials were received by the Kisoro district Returning Officer Daniel Nayebare amidst heavy security presence.

Nayebare revealed that the polling materials include 72 metallic black boxes containing ballot papers and election materials, 80 packs of transparent boxes where vote shall be cast, 80 basins, 75 rolls of condoning tape and 72 solar lamps.

He said that the polling materials will be safely kept at Electoral Commission Offices in Kisoro Municipality until the actual day of voting.

According to Nayebare, the polling materials will be transported by electoral commission teams directly to polling stations, not Sub counties like it has been previously.

He encouraged witnesses to turn up very early on voting day and ensure a transparent, free and fair and election.
