KAMPALA- Learning has become global and now days searching for an international University has been made simple with agencies.
In Uganda, for those that are interested in exploring their horizons in French territories, Campus France is the best go to in order to get the best information about any institution there.
On Wednesday, August 9, France Alumni who have studied, worked and those who intend to go there for further education converged at French Ambassador’s residence in Nakasero for a networking, get -together, experience sharing, and discussion “soiree”.
This was their first physical rendezvous or engagement post the COVID – 19 pandemic.
Speaking at the networking event, Mercy Twinomujuni, head Campus France said that they were all gathered there because of the link they have and there is something that binds them due to the fact that they studied in France or are planning to head there.
“France is much known for very many things in luxury, gastronomy, fashion, sports and on top of it continues to shine on the academic arena appearing among the top destinations in the world rankings like in the Shanghai and Financial Times. This has been attested by those who have been there and I vividly have a testimony about this” added Twinomujuni.
She also explained that it was not all about eating cheese, baguettes and filling up bellies until they could not walk any more neither was it about spending time in the library and amptheatre reading until their reddening eyes bagged them to sleep but it was about the general experience, culture, language, people, food, lessons learnt , memories, relationships built, careers created and opportunities.
On a lighter note, she joked that some of them met their spouses there and if they don’t drink alot they may get one.
Twinomujuni pointed out that the France Alumni was all about bringing people who studied in France to share their experiences, opportunities, lifting each other, practicing the language but also create a bond and the time they spent there does not matter because they are one.
More to add, the evening was also about Screening of their documentary filmed aptly titled ” SUR SCENE” which had Ugandans share their experience and was also screened in France three times, not forgetting an opportunity to chat with the ambassador or ask him questions in the line of university and academic cooperation, student mobility, questions on student visas and scholarships and many others.
H. E Jules- Armand Aniambossou, the French Ambassador applauded those students who gave their priority of education to France as a destination and assured those who are planning to head there that the embassy will be glad to give a hand and the necessary support.
He further called for a dialogue with them and responded to their questions for those that needed clarity regarding his involvement before imploring them to apply their knowledge, skills, experience in order to impact the community and Uganda at large.
After all the preliminary engagements the guests were treated to a cocktail in order to mingle and network casually.
