Rukungiri Municipality MP’s victory party & thanksgiving in high gear


NEWS– The Rukungiri municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Elisa Rutahigwa’s victory thanks giving and fundraising ceremony is in high gear according to the chairperson organizing committee Micheal Byarugaba who also doubles as his political assistant. 

Byarugaba says that tomorrow’s function will attract different people from all parts of Rukungiri and Uganda especially from the three Municipal divisions that include Western , Eastern and Southern.

Hon Elisa Rutahigwa also confirmed to our reporter that all is set and that they will visit places like Kitimba Primary School to deliver 100 iron sheets and timber to roof 4 classrooms, commission 4km Kakonkoma Nshure road among other projects he has done in one year he has so far spent in office.

Rutahigwa therefore calls upon all Rukungiri Municipality natives to come and support him in his current drive of fundraising for the purchase of street lights to be installed at different spots in town to overcome darkness and theft at night on top of the election victory party. 

The Chief Guest is expected to be the Speaker of Uganda’s 11th Parliament Rt Hon Anita Annet Among.

Hon Dr Rutahigwa of NRM became an MP after pulling 5,588 votes defeating FDC’s ‘S Dr Wallen Tumwine who got 3,584 votes, Independents Ingrid Turinawe 2,666 and Owakukiroru who got 1,098 votes.
