FDC’s Naboth Namanya tells Rubabo constituents to support NRM programs

NEWS– The Rubabo County Member of Parliament Hon Naboth Namanya has asked people in his Constituency to always support  government programs irrespective of their political parties because some are meant to eradicate poverty  from their homes.

Namanya made the remarks while officiating at the launch of Kahoko FDC twentungure group, the function that was held at Rwakaraba trading centre in Kahoko Parish, Nyakishenyi Sub County in Rukungiri district.

The legislator thanked the leaders of this group for being strategic and aiming at increasing income in their families by supporting Members in poultry and piggery projects by giving them chicken and piglets as start up capital.

He revealed that he has plans to support village groups in different ways starting with bodaboda cyclists and urged people to join different groups so that he can see how they can be helped in line with government programs like the Parish Development Model.

Francis Nturanabo, the Kahoko FDC twetungure group chairperson said that it started in 2019 with the aim of equipping Members with knowledge and skills in addition to saving little funds to support them in uplifting their standards of living.

Habasa George and Wickliffe Tumwesigye  among other leaders of the group stressed that they’re looking forward to starting up a big poultry and piggery project in their area apart from the individual projects which will increase their group’s income.

They asked the group Members to be cooperative and social with each other for the development and fulfillment of the future prospects.

Each member of the association went home with a hen as one way of promoting poultry farming in their families on top of piglets they had received previously.
